Providing Tax Relief and Affordable Living

​

Affordable living is becoming more difficult with overtaxation and government regulation  contributing to the struggles families are facing.  South Carolina has one of the highest state income taxes in Southeast. Last legislative session, the House voted to INCREASE income taxes on the majority of Fort Mill residents, while voting for a massive pay increase for themselves.  Our people deserve better.  Elizabeth will work to identify fraud and waste in our state budget and work toward the elimination of state income taxes and lower burdensome regulation.

Bringing More Tax Dollars Home to Fort Mill

​

Fort Mill families and businesses send tens of millions in state taxes to Columbia every year, yet we receive far less than our fair share.  Since 2010, our population has surged more than 70% - one of the fastest growth rates in the nation - while state infrastructure funding to our area has barely increased.  The result: overcrowded roads, dangerous intersections, and gridlock that puts lives at risk and steals valuable hours from working families.

Elizabeth will work to change that.

She'll fight to bring our tax dollars home where they belong - so we can fix our crumbling roads, ease congestion and deliver the modern infrastructure Fort Mill deserves. 

 

Girls Deserve Private Spaces

​

Every female deserves the protection and dignity of using the restroom, lockerrooms, showers and bedrooms without a male present. Women and girls should not be forced to undress in front of males and share private spaces with them.  Every changing facility and restroom should be designated for single sex only.  Our girls are depending on us to protect them.

 

Last session, our legislature decided NOT to pass solid, ongoing legislation to protect our girls - opting, in stead for a temporary proviso in the budget, which expires in a year.  Our girls deserve better.

Support for Teachers and Students

​

Elizabeth worked for six years as a classroom teacher.   She knows exactly how hard our teachers work and how important it is that they receive  the support they deserve.  She is passionate about making sure that our schools are able to continue to positively impact our community and invest into our students.  After Elizabeth is elected, she will ensure that teachers and families are heard and will work together with all levels of government to ensure that Fort Mill remains one of the best places in America to raise a family.
